The Wirral Chinese Association (WCA) was set up in 1988 with funding from Task Force, Wirral Council and Merseyside Development Corporation. The Association’s Multicultural Centre opened in May 1992 as a community centre for local Chinese, Asian and Vietnamese people. WCA aims to promote the well-beings of the inhabitants of Chinese origin living on the Wirral Merseyside and the neighbourhood in areas of social, physical, mental and financial aspects.

Members meet on Tuesdays at Wirral Change. The club provides a nutritious traditional home cooked style hot meal for the elders. To promote the welleing in aspects of physical health, mental health and social life, we also arrange talks, chair-based excericises and day trip to them.
Our school as a community school has already taught Mandarin and Cantonese for few generations of Chinese in Merseyside. The School has been supporting people from aged 4 to 70 who wished to learn Chinese language and Chinese culture for years. Now, we have classes in our school every Saturday. The courses cover the range from Level 1 to GCSE and A Level. We also have adult classes and 11+ courses as well. In the past years, the students of classes of 11+, GCSE and A Level were excellent. Moreover, the students participated in various competitions of calligraphy, Chinese dancing and greeting card designs etc, and won many awards.
Members of the WG meet regularly for social gatherings. They organize Day Trips and social activities for the Community. These are especially popular with the elders and their families.
The group organizes cultural activities to promote the learning of Chinese Culture through dance and healthy exercise. They perform locally, bringing delightful entertainments to all!
